Participation in SBEP 2026

BEIA Cercetare participated in the Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership Symposium 2026, held in Bucharest from 10 to 12 February. The event brought together European initiatives focused on marine research, environmental protection, and sustainable blue growth, creating a strong setting for collaboration and knowledge exchange.

During the Symposium, BEIA Cercetare disseminated a portfolio of research and innovation projects, including MisAIB, ROMEO, PNTS, OPTIX, PROMISE, ENHANCE Europe, WeH 2.0, AEROMATICS, NANOEMCA, NetZeroCities, SeaGuard, Museion, and SMARDY, highlighting ongoing work in digital transformation, environmental monitoring, and climate resilience.

A particular focus was placed on ROMEO, a low cost and open multi sensory system designed to monitor and digitize aquatic ecosystems. By combining advanced sensing technologies with an open data platform, ROMEO supports better understanding of ecosystem health and enables informed, science based decisions for conservation and sustainable blue economy development.

Participation in SBEP 2026 reinforced BEIA Cercetare’s engagement in European efforts aimed at restoring oceans and strengthening aquatic ecosystem resilience.
